"Gird Your Loins Now."

I haven't read Scalzi's blog in a while, because of my busy-ness, but it's one of my favorite blogs. I really like the way his brain works. I will go so far as to say that he could be a spirit-brother of mine, but a bit farther up the "success curve" than I am at the moment. Hopefully I can continue to follow him up that curve and close the distance, because he's pretty much got the life that I've been working toward. He's an excellent, excellent writer and a damn sensible human being, from what I can tell.

Anyway, looking through his back entries, I find that he is prognosticating the Return of Hair Metal! And if John Scalzi prognosticates it, you'd better get ready, because oh yes, it's coming!

Well, I for one am ready. Well, sort of ready. I'm always ready to rock out, of course, but I'm pretty far behind in my recording plans. Ah well. Hopefully I can catch up some this summer.

Mr. Forgetful Strikes Again

Yeah, I managed to leave my phone at home today, since I forgot to take it off the charger last night before I went to bed. I also forgot to do my checklist first thing this morning on the way out... so, if anyone's trying to call me, just leave a message. I'll call you back after I get home tonight.

The Girlfriend is in New York City for several days, so I'm taking care of The Little Dog. She's behaving very well and TGF bought me a fancy scooper device for taking care of, uh, biological byproducts when I walk her. I'm all for high-tech solutions!

A lot has been going on, but I don't have much time to write at the moment as I still have a pile of storyboards to finish and then another character painting. So I gotta get back to it. I'm still alive, all's well, I survived E3 without mishap, so it's all still good.

I'm not allowed to add to the official press releases, but I'm very happy that I can finally just tell people what I'm working on!

Pretty weird that an Italian kid from East Orange/Newark wound up working on this, huh? I mean, pretty much all the stuff I drew I pulled out of my head from when I lived in Jersey. I hope that everything I tried to throw in just adds that much more authenticity to the game.

I've had a lot of fun working on it, that's for sure. You'll see when you play it. :)

Difference a Day Makes

A leap of 12 cents in a single day. That's pretty impressive.

It's going to be a looooooong summer. Start looking for car pools, folks. The Girlfriend and I will likely do a lot more co-commuting on the motorcycle, which we did yesterday. She wasn't even terrified the whole time, even when we were splitting lanes! :)

Actually we didn't do it for the fuel, we did it because the large Day Without an Immigrant demonstration here in LA was in a place where it made a mess of our evening ride home - had she driven her car she would have been hatin' life. As it was we got home a bit later than normal because we did have to do a good bit of traffic-threading on local streets.

But I'm thinking that doing it for the fuel is going to become a big deal for us. She has cut back her gas costs with the move to my building and the shorter commute, but price increases like this will wipe that out pretty quickly. She may wind up spending the same or more for fewer miles traveled, and that would suck. So it's nice to know that ride-sharing on the bike is possible and fun.

Been real busy. Good news: The Game I Heretofore Have Not Been Able to Talk About will be officially announced on Thursday - so I'll be able to tell you what it is!! Unfortunately I won't be able to provide any details about it or what I'm doing, but it will be nice to not have to cover it up anymore.
